Emerson Hospital Offers Pilates Classes This Winter

1/2/2017

The Emerson Wellness Center for Mind and Body is offering Pilates classes this winter – Pilates Mat and Pilates Strength Training.  The Pilates Mat Small Training Group class starts January 25, with another session starting March 8. This class is based on Stott Pilates, a contemporary approach to the original exercise method.  Through breath work and a sequence of exercises, this customized fitness class strengthens the core, improves alignment and posture, enhances the natural curves of the spine and provides overall mind-body awareness.  The Pilates Mat class meets on Wednesdays from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. and is taught by Susanne Liebich, certified Stott Pilates Trainer.

The Pilates with Strength Training Small Group class starts January 17, with another session starting February 28. This class allows for one-on-one individual attention and includes strength training. This class meets on Tuesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. and is taught by Lori Seymour, Certified Stott Pilates/Personal Trainer.

Participants will meet at the Emerson Wellness Center for Mind and Body, located at 310 Baker Avenue in Concord, near the new Residence Inn hotel.  Students should bring a yoga mat. Free parking is available in the office park. The cost is $120 per person for a six-week session, or $22 for drop-in.
