Essentrics classes are available starting in January at the Steinberg Wellness Center for Mind and Body at Emerson Hospital. Essentrics is a full-body workout that rapidly changes the shape of your body through a dynamic combination of strengthening and stretching. The classes are scientifically designed to rebalance the entire muscular skeleton, strengthen and stretch all of our muscles, aid in weight loss, keep joints healthy and increase range of motion while protecting against injury.
There are two Essentrics classes available this winter: Essentrics Restore, Release and Rebalance, and Essentrics Stretch and Tone. Taught by Severina Gates and Lauren Mayhew, who are advanced certified level 4 essentrics instructors, Essentrics draws on the flowing movements of tai chi to create health and balance, the strengthening theories of ballet to create long, lean, flexible muscles, and the healing principles of physiotherapy to create a pain-free body. Participants will meet at the Steinberg Wellness Center for Mind and Body, located at 310 Baker Avenue in Concord, near the Residence Inn hotel. Free parking is available in the office park. The cost is $90 for a 5-week session or $20 for drop-in.
Classes are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at various times. For more information about these classes and many other wellness classes taking place this winter at The Emerson Wellness Center for Mind and Body, visit www.emersonwellness.org or call 978-287-3777.
