Emerson Hospital Elects Two New Corporators from Carlisle

5/21/2018

At Emerson Hospital’s Annual Meeting held recently, two Carlisle residents, Ann Rosas and Deb Van Walsum, were elected as Corporators of the hospital. Corporators represent the health interests of the 25 communities served by Emerson.

“As Emerson continues to succeed as a top community hospital in today’s challenging health care environment, our Corporators are an integral part of our mission to provide the best health care to every person in the many towns that the hospital and health system serves,” said Paul D. Birch, Chair, Emerson Hospital Board of Directors. “Through their work as ambassadors, they educate the community on ways that Emerson is expanding its services to treat an ever-growing population using the latest technology, surgical techniques and state-of-the-art equipment, while maintaining its focus on providing the highest quality compassionate care to patients.  We are grateful to our Corporators who have accepted the responsibility to serve the community in this important way.”

Emerson relies on its volunteer Corporators as ambassadors of the hospital through the work they do communicating information about the hospital's programs and services to the residents and businesses in their communities. Corporators also elect the hospital’s Board of Directors and new Corporators each year at the hospital’s annual meeting.

“We are proud of Ann and Deb, our new Corporators from Carlisle,” added Christine Schuster, President and CEO of Emerson. “We look forward to working with them to deepen our relationships with residents and local organizations as we expand our services in new and exciting areas to provide advanced health care for everyone in the area.”

Ann Rosas is the Director of Community Relations for Benchmark at Billerica Crossings senior living community. In addition, she has worked with local Councils on Aging. Ann has experienced how Emerson puts the needs of it patients first, both as a surgical patient and in her work as a healthcare professional.

Deb Van Walsum is the current President of the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital and she also serves on the Board of Directors of the Emerson Health Care Foundation. She formerly served in business development for an advertising firm and is Past President of the Carlisle Garden Club. “Emerson Hospital is a pillar of excellence in the communities it serves. I choose Emerson and use Emerson for my healthcare needs,” Deb explains.

These Corporators from Carlisle are part of the class of 2020 which is comprised of Corporators from towns throughout Emerson Hospital’s service area including Acton, Bedford, Concord, Groton, Littleton, Maynard and Sudbury.
