If you have been diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD), you’ll be glad to know that Emerson Hospital has a team of pelvic health specialists—physical therapists who specialize in pelvic floor health—who can help.
In fact, pelvic floor dysfunction is a very treatable condition, usually through a combination of physical therapy and biofeedback. Importantly, you don’t have to live with PFD.
Emerson Hospital’s pelvic health specialists can help treat PFD-related conditions such as:
- Urinary stress and/or urge incontinence
- Voiding dysfunctions (urgency, frequency, hesitation)
- Pelvic pain (including pain in the vagina, prostate, bladder, abdomen, tail bone)
- Pre/post-operative training
Based on an initial evaluation, therapy may include education, diet recommendations, biofeedback, bladder function retraining, flexibility training and exercise.
