When you give birth at Emerson Hospital’s Clough Birthing Center, you have the option for sensitive, personalized care provided by a certified nurse-midwife. An integral part of the medical team, the nurse-midwives focus on: Midwifery is based on the philosophy that childbirth is a natural process. While our certified nurse-midwives incorporate the latest and most sophisticated medical practices into their care, they also support you in the individual choices you make for your childbirth experience.

For example, some moms-to-be choose a natural approach to pregnancy and childbirth, while others choose an epidural or other pain medication. All these options are available to you at Emerson Hospital.

The nurse-midwives at Emerson are part of AFA OB/GYN, a practice with locations in Concord, Westford and Leominster, and Concord OB/GYN, which has offices in Concord and Westford. They are certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives and licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
