Emerson’s Special Care Nursery Newly Renovated

Emerson's Special Care Nursery is newly renovated thanks to the generosity of an anonymous local donor, along with the Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU), the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital, and donors Jill and Michael Stansky.

The updated nursery has a warm, private feel where newborns are closely monitored and cared for. There the newborns can rest comfortably in a bassinette or in their parents’ arms. New rocking chairs, paint colors, and flooring were chosen based on feedback from parents and maternity staff. Emerson is home to the area’s only Level II Special Care Nursery.

The nursery is staffed around the clock by skilled doctors and nurses under the direction of a Massachusetts General Hospital neonatologist.
