Emerson Hospital Hosts Family Health and Wellness Expo on May 4 in Concord
Join us at Emerson Hospital’s annual Family Health and Wellness Expo on Saturday, May 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the hospital’s main campus located at 133 Old Road to Nine Acre Corner in Concord. The Expo will feature free health screenings and general health information, conversations with health and wellness experts, reiki, chair massage, face painting and more.
Massachusetts Health Policy Commission Appoints Emerson Hospital’s President and CEO to Advisory Council
The Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC) announced the members appointed for the 2019-2020 term of the HPC Advisory Council. Christine Schuster, RN, MBA, President and CEO of Emerson Hospital and longtime Sudbury resident, has been appointed as a new member. The Advisory Council provides an opportunity for open dialogue and engagement among a diverse group of health care industry stakeholders and policymakers and, in turn, helps inform the work of the HPC.

Emerson Hospital Names Christine Dixon as Executive Director of Home Care
Christine Dixon has joined Emerson Hospital as its new Executive Director of Home Care. Ms. Dixon is an accomplished health care executive with more than 25 years of experience. Most recently, she was Executive Director ACO, Population Health and Home Health and Hospice for Health Alliance Clinton Hospital. Prior to that she served as Chief Executive Officer of Visiting Nurse and Community Health in Arlington, Massachusetts.

Emerson’s Steinberg Wellness Center for Mind and Body Hosts Open House
Emerson Hospital invites the community to an Open House of its Steinberg Wellness Center for Mind and Body on Saturday, March 30 from 2 p.m. -5 p.m. at 310 Baker Avenue, Concord. A variety of free demonstrations and lectures on the latest wellness topics, including acupuncture, yoga, self-defense, muscular therapies, rolfing bodywork and tai chi will be offered. Participants who register for classes at the open house will receive a discount. Tours, raffles, giveaways and refreshments will be available.

Advances in understanding and treating concussions, coupled with a growing staff of specialists and therapists, have helped the Dr. Robert C. Cantu Concussion Center lead the way in caring for patients.
Volunteers Needed for Spring Vacation Bike Camp in Groton
Volunteers are needed during April school vacation week, April 15 -19, to assist at a learn-to-bike camp at Lawrence Academy in Groton for children with special needs. Emerson Hospital’s Clough Family Center for Rehabilitative and Sports Therapies is hosting the fifth annual camp, called iCan Shine, which is open to children who are at least eight years old who have special needs and are able to walk without an assistive device. Trained counselors and volunteer spotters will work with campers throughout the week to teach them how to ride a conventional bike.
Got Confusion? Memory Loss and How It Feels – March 20
Join Emerson Hospital’s Care Management team for a free educational program about dementia for families and caregivers on Wednesday, March 20 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Emerson Hospital, Cheney Conference Room, 133 Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, Concord, MA. Mal Allard, CAEd and Founder of Their Real World, which offers Alzheimer’s and dementia education services, will explain the “why’s” of confusion, how to prevent increased confusion and how to embrace it as part of the journey.
