Extra care for newborns

When your baby is born at Emerson’s Birthing Center, we offer: 

Exceptional inpatient care for hospitalized children

When your child is hospitalized at Emerson, we provide 24/7 coverage by board-certified pediatric hospitalists who monitor and coordinate every aspect of your child’s care.

Our Child Life program helps children and families cope with the challenges of hospitalization.

As a parent, you’re welcome on the inpatient pediatric unit 24 hours a day, your meals are complimentary, and the nurses encourage your participation in your child’s care.



Innovative Pediatric Intervention Team (PIT)

Because we care about your child’s emotional health, our multidisciplinary Pediatric Intervention Team provides support for children with anxiety related to stressful exams and procedures.  

 

Child-friendly emergency and urgent care

Emerson Hospital’s emergency department always has pediatric emergency medicine specialists available, and our child-friendly urgent care centers welcome families.

Pediatric Ophthalmology

The pediatric ophthalmologists on staff at Emerson can help diagnosing and treating eye conditions and issues in children. Their offices also offer eyewear services on-site for the convenience of their patients.
 

Pediatric Orthopedics (bones and joints)

Our fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon treats upper and lower extremity fractures, foot and ankle injuries, among many others.
 

Rehabilitation services for children

Emerson Hospital has an entire team of pediatric therapy experts to help children achieve their personal best. 
 

Pediatric nutrition

Vicky Hopley, Certified Child Life Specialist, Honored for Providing Outstanding Compassionate Care at Emerson Hospital 4/13/2018

At Emerson Hospital’s annual Compassionate Caregiver Award event held in March, Vicky Hopley, MS, Certified Child Life Specialist on the Pediatric Intervention Team, was honored for her devotion to Emerson’s young patients and for consistently providing compassionate care to families. Nominated by her colleagues, Vicky was chosen as the recipient of this year’s Terry Croteau Compassionate Care Award, the highest honor for patient care at Emerson.
